This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and sustain technical documentation for mortgage and fintech systems, including Loan Origination Systems (LOS), Point of Sale (POS), and servicing platforms.
• Create user guides, API documentation, knowledge base articles, and training resources.
• Convert intricate technical and regulatory concepts into straightforward, concise content.
• Work collaboratively with engineers and product managers to document features and system modifications.
• Ensure that documentation complies with RESPA, TILA, HMDA, and TRID regulatory standards.
• Uphold documentation standards, templates, and style guidelines.
• Facilitate onboarding and training with structured educational materials.
• Oversee the documentation lifecycle, including version control and updates.
• Engage in product releases to verify documentation readiness.
• Collect feedback to continuously enhance the quality and usability of documentation.
• Partner with engineering, product, compliance, and business teams to promote operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and improved user experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field (or equivalent experience) and 3–5+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in fintech or regulated sectors, OR 7 years of experience in technical writing.
• Capability to obtain VA Public Trust Clearance.
• Strong aptitude for comprehending and articulating complex technical systems.
• Experience in creating API documentation and developer-oriented content.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and possess Adobe writing and editing skills.
• Skilled in Confluence and SharePoint for documentation and knowledge management.
• Familiar with Markdown editors and Git/GitHub/GitLab for technical tools and version control.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and communication abilities.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Keen attention to detail and precision.
• Ability to distill complex information for varied audiences.
• Strong collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Structured thinking and organization of content.
• Consistent attention to detail.
• Adaptability in dynamic, regulated environments.
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Must be eligible to secure a Public Trust clearance.
• Preferred qualifications: experience in mortgage, lending, or financial services; understanding of the mortgage lifecycle; familiarity with MISMO standards and financial data structures; Agile/Scrum experience; knowledge of UX writing principles and content design; experience with content management systems; familiarity with compliance and regulatory documentation; background in training content or instructional design; knowledge of AI tools; experience in digital mortgage transformation; understanding of API-first and microservices architectures.
• Full-Time, W2 employment.
• 40 hours/week.
• Availability during core business hours of 8am-5pm ET.
• 100% remote work available for US-based employees.
