📋 Description

• Collaborate with IT engineers, software developers, and subject matter experts to facilitate discussions aimed at gathering the technical information necessary to identify and prepare high-quality, audience-targeted communications, how-to guides, and training materials, which may include written text, directional screenshots or graphics, and other necessary content.

• Identify, establish, and lead collaborations with customers, project teams, and cross-contract participants to define the scope of communications, delineate responsibilities, and determine the requirements for deliverables.

• Create and modify written materials while incorporating edits from multiple feedback sources, ensuring the original intent of the message remains intact.

• Conduct in-depth investigations to understand complex software development, Cloud technologies, and other application languages and plans, allowing for the generation of written communications and training documentation that are accessible to non-technical audiences.

• Experience with AI language models for drafting and reviewing assembled communications.

• Develop and execute communication plans and associated deliverables aligned with project objectives and audience strategies, including but not limited to internal web portal articles and technical documents using tools such as Confluence, Jira, Contentful, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.

• Follow and adhere to brand, writing, and style guides established by the customer.

• Maintain a positive, customer-centric, “can do” attitude.

• Utilize exceptional communication, content, and technical writing skills to produce effective, plain language, 508 compliant, engaging, and creative written content.

• Consult relevant sources, including subject matter experts and project personnel, to gather background information and verify guidelines and regulations pertinent to project deliverables.

• Collaborate successfully within project teams and manage work independently through program-level and customer review and approval processes.

• Work closely with engineering teams to grasp technical architectures, systems, and processes in relation to multi-cloud migrations and support.

• Translate technical modifications, migrations, and upgrades into clear, business-focused insights, training materials, and web articles for non-technical audiences.

• Identify and create product, service, and project deliverables, including training briefs and presentations, targeted messages, internal portal content, digital newsletters, knowledge articles, and FAQs for training and technical documentation.

• Develop, review, copyedit, and proofread content.

• Ensure that documents comply with editorial and government specifications and meet quality standards for graphics, coverage, format, and style.

• Present and clarify the communications strategy and deliverables to both project teams and customer-facing audiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of six (6)+ years of experience as a communications or technical writer in environments of similar scope and complexity.

• A Bachelor’s degree in writing, technical writing, journalism, mass communications, or a closely related discipline.

• Four (4) years of additional experience as a technical writer may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

• A Master’s Degree in a related field is advantageous.

• Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively.

• Strong collaboration skills for working in a team across various disciplines.

• Ability to research and organize processes succinctly.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

• All candidates supporting the CMS programs must have resided in the United States for at least three (3) of the last five (5) years to be considered.
