This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• **What will you be doing?**
• - Manage your time and that of your team, adhering to the priorities established by the company.
• - Take ownership of intricate engineering challenges from problem definition and design to delivery and iterative improvements.
• - Ensure critical components of the platform are reliable, efficient, and maintainable.
• - Develop new features and enhance existing ones across our platforms.
• - Pragmatically refactor both legacy and modern codebases, balancing long-term sustainability with immediate delivery requirements.
• - Write various tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end) to guarantee software reliability.
• - Engage in all stages of the software lifecycle, from ideation through to deployment.
• - Participate in and occasionally lead in-depth technical discussions, facilitating sound decision-making and trade-offs.
• - Work actively across both backend and frontend systems, addressing issues wherever they arise.
• - Identify inefficiencies and assist in streamlining workflows to minimize unnecessary tasks.
• - Collaborate closely with other senior engineers, raising standards through example rather than authority.
• - Take responsibility for your work, ensuring high-quality outcomes and maintainable solutions.
• **What will you bring along?**
• - Over 15 years of hands-on experience in building and maintaining complex web applications.
• - Has been directly involved in the development and successful (or unsuccessful) launch of multiple major projects from conception to production and ongoing operation.
• - Your portfolio includes several projects that you have dedicated more than 2.5 years to.
• - Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly; capable of explaining and justifying design choices to both senior engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
• - Expert PHP developer with 12+ years of experience; proficiency in Symfony or similar frameworks.
• - Over 10 years of experience in modern JavaScript, particularly with React or Vue (Next/Nuxt is a plus).
• - Expert-level knowledge in at least one additional programming language (Python is a plus).
• - Full-stack architecture expertise, encompassing monoliths, services, and hybrid systems.
• - Proficient in cloud deployment and scaling, ideally with AWS.
• - Advanced Linux user, including daily workflows utilizing containerization with Docker.
• - Skilled in infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• - Experienced in CI/CD pipeline management and release workflow ownership.
• - Familiarity with automated testing methodologies: unit, integration, E2E; TDD where applicable.
• - Extensive knowledge of web security fundamentals, including authentication, authorization, data protection, and secure coding practices.
• - Fluent in both legacy and modern codebases, with the ability to support incremental modernization efforts.
• - Strong commitment to independent technical ownership and accountability.
