This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Act as the ultimate technical authority for all bids, ensuring compliance with the subsidiary's technical risk and governance standards.
• Integrate a "Safety-First" mindset into the solution design stage, guaranteeing that all proposed configurations meet or surpass industry safety and regulatory standards (UL/NFPA).
• Manage the intake, triage, and prioritization of customer requests, ensuring a balanced workload across the technical solutions team.
• Systematize the "closed-loop" process to ensure that customer technical requirements, market trends, and field insights are consistently incorporated into the Product Roadmap.
• Emphasize "Design for Serviceability" by ensuring that sales configurations prioritize long-term asset reliability, uptime, and maintenance ease over the initial sale.
• Deliver precise technical recommendations and risk assessments to aid in long-term commercial strategy and bid positioning.
• Act as the main technical liaison for both internal and external executives, representing Ford Energy during high-stakes customer reviews and strategic business discussions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of technical solutions engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and commercial urgency.
• Establish and continuously enhance technical solutions workflows and governance to improve the speed, quality, and consistency of executive-level proposals.
• Oversee the technical scoping and configuration of BESS projects, including system sizing (MW/MWh) and site layout optimizations.
• Collaborate with simulation teams to model battery degradation and financial performance (LCOS/NPV) based on specific customer use cases.
• Ensure a smooth technical transition from the solution phase to delivery and commissioning, documenting lessons learned for future prevention.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Over 10 years of experience in Applications Engineering, Quality Assurance, Systems Engineering, or Product Development within the energy or automotive industries.
• More than 3 years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.
• Proven track record of interfacing with executive-level stakeholders and driving technical governance.
• Strong knowledge of power systems, batteries, and battery management systems.
