This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain software systems that support APIs, services, validation workflows, and the associated infrastructure.

• Implement and enhance automated testing capabilities for cryptographic algorithms, including the creation of test harnesses, reference implementations, and tools utilized in validation activities.

• Ensure that system implementations are compliant with relevant FIPS publications, NIST Special Publications, and cryptographic standards, while accommodating evolving and emerging requirements.

• Contribute to decisions regarding system architecture with an emphasis on scalability, security, interoperability, automation, and long-term maintainability.

• Aid modernization initiatives by refactoring outdated components, enhancing system performance, and embracing secure and efficient development practices.

• Assist in the identification, analysis, and remediation of technical risks and vulnerabilities impacting cryptographic validation infrastructure.

• Collaborate closely with program staff, testing laboratories, and other technical stakeholders to facilitate operations.

• Provide technical guidance and support concerning APIs, workflows, and validation processes.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system design artifacts, API specifications, developer guides, and internal SOPs.

• Engage in technical reviews, working groups, and discussions related to cryptographic validation standards and the evolution of systems.

• Identify and propose opportunities to enhance automation, efficiency, and overall program effectiveness.


⛳️ Requirements

• 12 years of extensive and progressive experience in the relevant specialty field.

• Requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant area (such as computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, privacy, engineering, or mathematics), or 16 years of focused experience without a degree.

• Strong expertise in cryptographic algorithms and standards, including the FIPS 140 series and NIST cryptographic guidance.

• Demonstrated proficiency in software development, encompassing API development, backend services, and automation frameworks.

• Experience with standards-based systems or compliance-driven technical programs within a federal or regulated setting.

• Ability to translate cryptographic and standards requirements into practical and reliable system implementations.

• Strong technical communication skills, with the ability to produce clear documentation and collaborate with various technical stakeholders.

• Must be a US Citizen.
