
Technical Sales Specialist – Protein & Cell Analysis

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.
• Achieve the sales objectives set for the designated territory.
• Drive workflows related to immunoassays, mass spectrometry, and gene expression for both internal and external clients.
• Actively engage with existing and prospective customers through field visits, web conferences, and phone calls.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues at Thermo Fisher Scientific to formulate specific strategies for account growth, including account mapping and penetration.
• Serve as a technical resource for Thermo Fisher Scientific counterparts within the assigned portfolio.
• Qualify sales leads, seek new business opportunities, and support existing prospects to maintain a strong and healthy sales pipeline; provide regular forecasts.
• Organize and/or conduct technical and promotional seminars.
• Develop and regularly update Territory Sales Plans.
• Maintain accurate records for opportunities, demonstrations/training sessions, and technical support.
• Gather and disseminate competitive intelligence and market insights.
• Assist in addressing customer complaints and product quality issues, communicating with the relevant departments.
• Participate in trade shows, vendor exhibitions, and related events as required.
• Engage in and complete special projects as assigned.
• A BA or BS in Biology, Immunology, or a related field is required; a M.Sc. or PhD is preferred.
• A technical background with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in a research laboratory environment or commercial sales experience.
• Prior laboratory experience with ELISA, multiplexing, and gene expression assays, or sales experience in these workflows.
• Sales experience in immunoassays, biomarker screening tools, detection, and/or gene expression, with familiarity with clients involved in drug discovery, including the development of screening assays and biomarker discovery.
• A customer-centric mindset and focus.
• Knowledge of the life sciences market, particularly trends within the immunoassay sector and awareness of competitors.
• Strong organizational skills with the capability to transition from planning to action.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to deliver impactful presentations.
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Highly driven and motivated to meet both personal and organizational objectives.
• Willingness to work remotely and travel as necessary.
• A valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
