Technical Recruiter – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• You will take ownership of the entire recruiting cycle for your vacancies—sourcing, screening, coordinating, and closing candidates.

• You will report to the Head of People and collaborate with a small, high-accountability People team.

• You will have a significant influence on how we conduct searches and refine our processes.

• You will oversee a pipeline of 4–6 active technical requisitions, ensuring high candidate quality and consistent progress.

• Candidates consistently provide positive feedback about their responsive experience with Slang, regardless of the outcome.

• You will identify and execute at least one substantial sourcing or process improvement each quarter.

• You will contribute to offer negotiations with confidence, upholding the compensation framework and assisting in closing strong candidates.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6–8 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including a minimum of 2 years focused on sourcing and closing technical roles (Software Engineers, ML/AI, DevOps, or similar).

• Proven ability to build sourcing pipelines from the ground up, rather than simply managing inbound applicant queues.

• Comfortable conducting structured interview processes and advising hiring managers on best assessment practices.

• Excellent written communication skills—your outreach, job descriptions, and candidate messages are clear, friendly, and precise.

• Active and proficient use of AI tools in your daily tasks (not just familiar with them—you actively use them to enhance efficiency).

• Preferred: experience in recruiting within a startup environment (Series A–C), where processes are still being established.

• Preferred: knowledge of multi-state hiring considerations (California, New York, or similar).
