This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee the complete delivery process of software development platform projects, encompassing architectural decisions, build/buy evaluations, integration planning, and deployment in production.
• Organize both internal resources and third-party vendors to execute multiple concurrent technical initiatives.
• Guarantee that all projects are completed on schedule, within scope, and on budget.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, development teams, and technical leads to define project scope and objectives, ensuring technical viability and strategic alignment.
• Create and manage comprehensive project budgets, including cost forecasting, expenditure tracking, variance reporting, and financial escalation when necessary to adjust constraints.
• Construct and sustain detailed project plans featuring milestones, dependencies, resource models, and critical path analysis.
• Manage alterations to project scope, schedule, and costs through formal change control and verification techniques that comply with PMI standards.
• Promote cross-functional collaboration across departments, business units, and subject matter areas—including those outside direct vertical expertise—to secure integrated delivery results.
• Assess and report on project performance utilizing suitable tools, KPIs, and earned value management techniques.
• Conduct risk identification, assessment, and mitigation planning; escalate issues to leadership as necessary.
• Build and uphold productive relationships with third-party vendors, including managing contract performance and ensuring accountability for deliverables.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or an Associate’s degree with equivalent professional experience.
• At least five (5) years of experience managing technical projects, with hands-on leadership in software development platform implementations or modernization efforts.
• Proven expertise in PMI project management principles, including formal budgeting, cost control, schedule management, and earned value analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams across various business domains and organizational levels, including effective coordination beyond primary subject matter expertise.
• Relevant experience in the Employee Benefits industry.
• Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), with familiarity in Agile, hybrid, and waterfall methodologies.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel as required to support corporate projects.
• A minimum of four (4) years of experience in pharmacy management, Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM), or medical/provider operations (preferred).
• Experience with enterprise data platforms, integration layers, APIs, ETL pipelines, or cloud-based development environments (preferred).
• Prior experience managing vendor-led or outsourced software development projects (preferred).
• Understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance frameworks, including HIPAA, HITRUST, and HITECH (preferred).
• Familiarity with portfolio-level project governance and demand management practices (preferred).
• Exposure to modern development toolchains and AI-assisted development environments (preferred).
