This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a portfolio of projects focused on the retirement and migration of legacy applications within a payments platform program.
• Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to determine the appropriate disposition paths for legacy systems: retire, remediate, or migrate to new infrastructure.
• Develop and sustain project plans, timelines, and dependency maps across multiple concurrent streams of work.
• Proactively identify risks and obstacles, driving them towards resolution by engaging the relevant technical and business stakeholders.
• Monitor progress against milestones and provide clear status updates to program leadership and client stakeholders.
• Coordinate efforts across engineering, infrastructure, security, and compliance teams to ensure migrations remain on schedule.
• Facilitate program-level ceremonies (planning, status reviews, retrospectives) to maintain team alignment.
• Keep comprehensive documentation of application disposition decisions and migration progress.
• Highlight any changes in scope or timeline early and assist the team in adjusting plans as necessary.
• 7+ years of experience managing technical programs related to application migration, modernization, or retirement, ideally on a large scale.
• Ability to work closely with engineering teams on technical scoping and sequencing, even if not directly coding.
• Background in payments, banking, or another regulated financial services sector.
• Knowledge of cloud migration concepts and target infrastructure (AWS or similar).
• Proficient in Agile delivery practices and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience in managing risks, dependencies, and communications with stakeholders across multiple workstreams.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating technical details for both engineers and business stakeholders.
