• Transform the VP’s strategic vision into a well-structured backlog of challenges, user stories, and acceptance criteria that the Engineering team can deliver on a continuous basis.
• Maintain a "thin-sliced" approach to work, enabling the team to ship frequently, learn rapidly, and minimize risk through iterative processes.
• Uphold a consistent rhythm of backlog refinement, sprint preparation, and scope negotiation to ensure predictable delivery while fostering innovation.
• Utilize your practical DevOps experience and knowledge of the real-world workflows of the professionals you are developing solutions for, particularly cloud operators and practitioners.
• Harness firsthand domain expertise and ongoing discussions with customers to pinpoint friction points, gaps, and opportunities for differentiation.
• Focus on enhancements that significantly improve outcomes, such as speed, reliability, clarity, safety, governance, cost efficiency, or operational simplicity.
• Regularly engage with customers (aiming for 3-5 calls per week) and collaborate with cross-functional DoiT stakeholders to test ideas, validate assumptions, and evaluate trade-offs.
• Communicate with clarity and confidence: present concepts early, welcome feedback, synthesize input into decisions, and articulate the reasoning behind choices in a manner that fosters trust.
• Ensure that product requirements reflect real-world cloud environments, including IAM boundaries, auditability, guardrails, and safe defaults.
• Collaborate with security, support, and customer teams to anticipate edge cases and ensure that Core Services builds trust over time.
• 7–10 years of hands-on experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, SRE, Cloud Engineer, Solutions Architect, or similar roles, particularly in relation to public cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, and/or Azure).
• Strong product intuition for converting complex challenges into clear scopes and delivered value without awaiting perfect information.

• Prioritization: Proven ability to balance customer requirements, engineering limitations, and platform investments when making prioritization decisions.
• Deep curiosity and technical proficiency in cloud fundamentals (cost/billing concepts, identity/IAM, networking, compute, Kubernetes, observability, automation), along with experience in building solutions that leverage or center around these technologies.
• Coding experience is advantageous—sufficient to collaborate effectively with engineers, assess feasibility, and understand system behaviors.
• Exceptional communication skills: capable of simplifying complex ideas, facilitating alignment, and confidently engaging with customers and experts.
