📋 Description

• Transform the VP’s strategy into a prioritized backlog of problems, user stories, and acceptance criteria that the Engineering team can deliver consistently.

• Keep work "thin-sliced" to enable the team to ship frequently, learn rapidly, and minimize risk through iterative processes.

• Uphold a structured rhythm of backlog refinement, sprint readiness, and scope negotiation to maintain predictable delivery while fostering innovation.

• Utilize your practical DevOps experience and knowledge of the real-world workflows of the professionals you are building for, particularly cloud operators and practitioners.

• Apply firsthand domain expertise and ongoing customer interactions to pinpoint friction, identify gaps, and discover opportunities for differentiation.

• Prioritize enhancements that significantly improve outcomes such as speed, reliability, clarity, safety, governance, cost impact, or operational simplicity.

• Regularly engage with customers (aiming for 3-5 calls per week) and cross-functional DoiT stakeholders to test concepts, validate assumptions, and challenge trade-offs.

• Communicate effectively and confidently: share ideas early, welcome feedback, integrate input into decisions, and articulate the rationale in a manner that fosters trust.

• Leverage your hands-on DevOps experience to delve deeply with stakeholders (both internal and external) into the technical specifics of the problem, our solution, and the contexts in which both operate.

• Ensure product requirements consider real-world cloud environments including IAM boundaries, auditability, guardrails, and safe defaults.

• Collaborate with security, support, and customer teams to anticipate edge cases and ensure Core Services builds trust over time.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7–10 years of practical experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, SRE, Cloud Engineer, Solutions Architect, or a similar role working with or developing products for public cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, and/or Azure).

• A strong product sensibility for converting complex problems into clear scope and delivered value—without waiting for complete information.

• Systems thinking: The ability to understand complex distributed systems, architectural trade-offs, and long-term platform evolution.

• Prioritization: Proven capability to balance customer demands, engineering limitations, and platform investments when making prioritization choices.

• Deep curiosity and technical proficiency in cloud fundamentals (cost/billing concepts, identity/IAM, networking, compute, Kubernetes, observability, automation) with experience in building solutions that utilize or focus on these technologies.

• Coding experience is advantageous—sufficient to collaborate effectively with engineers, assess feasibility, and comprehend system behaviors.

• Exceptional communication skills: the ability to simplify complex ideas, facilitate alignment, and engage confidently with customers and experts.

• An inclination towards action and continuous improvement: you ship, measure, learn, and iterate—developing capabilities that provide a significant competitive advantage.
