Technical Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Facilitate key agile ceremonies including standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Oversee sprint execution by managing scope, dependencies, risks, and any blockers.

• Maintain transparency regarding delivery health, throughput, and progress.

• Eliminate operational, technical, and cross-functional barriers.

• Ensure user stories are ready for the sprint and meet quality assurance standards.

• Provide clear and consistent status updates to stakeholders.

• Convert business requirements into precise, outcome-focused specifications.

• Develop well-defined user stories with clear acceptance criteria.

• Prioritize and groom the backlog based on value, urgency, and constraints.

• Confirm backlog readiness prior to sprint planning sessions.

• Balance the delivery of features with the management of technical debt and operational requirements.

• Make real-time decisions regarding scope and priorities as constraints change.

• Review completed tasks and make acceptance or rejection decisions based on established standards.

• Maintain visibility into Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC) readiness, dependencies, and future work.

• Proven experience in agile delivery management and/or technical product ownership.

• Demonstrated capability to lead sprints and drive execution in fast-paced settings.

• Strong skills in crafting clear, buildable, and testable user stories.

• Experience in managing backlogs and prioritizing based on business impact.

• Comfortable making decisions regarding scope and trade-offs under tight deadlines.

• Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on throughput, clarity, and delivered outcomes.
