• Take ownership of the product backlog for Core Services platforms, which include Identity, Rules Manager, Document Service, Notifications, and core banking APIs.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of technical architecture, API agreements, data structures, and system interdependencies to craft clear, engineer-ready epics, features, and user stories.
• Lead prioritization efforts based on technical debt, system risk, regulatory implications, and business value—not solely on feature requests.
• Collaborate with Engineering leadership (SDMs, Architects) to assess feasibility, pinpoint constraints, and ensure solutions are scalable and maintainable.
• Serve as the primary point of accountability for backlog transparency, readiness, acceptance criteria, and the definition of done.
• Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release planning in close partnership with delivery teams.
• Implement rigorous release governance—ensuring features are clearly defined, thoroughly tested, and compliant with SLA expectations prior to deployment.
• Track production incidents and system health metrics; convert operational data into actionable backlog priorities.
• Promote cross-team alignment among Clearing, AAS, OLB, Commercial, QA, and Infrastructure teams.
• Deliver executive-ready updates on roadmap progress, risks, obstacles, and delivery outcomes.
• Assess technical proposals and trade-offs with engineering teams, including service isolation strategies, caching layers, and API versioning methodologies.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner / Product Manager with proven experience managing backend or platform engineering teams.
• Solid understanding of REST/GraphQL APIs, microservices architecture, distributed systems, and event-driven design.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, API specifications, ERDs, and architectural diagrams.
• Demonstrated capability to create detailed, clear user stories and acceptance criteria for backend systems—not just user interface features.
• Experience managing intricate cross-system dependencies, integration risks, and competing engineering priorities.
• Comfortable working within Agile/Scrum frameworks alongside senior engineers, architects, and QA teams.
• Experience in regulated environments such as banking, fintech, or financial services is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills; able to effectively engage both technical and executive audiences.
• Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance.
• Paid Sick Leave, 3 weeks’ Vacation, and Holidays (approximately 11 per year).
• HSA or FSA account and other voluntary benefits.
• 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with Employer Match Program and 529 Savings Plan.
• Employee Mortgage Loan Program and complimentary access to an Axos Bank Account with Self-Directed Trading.
