Technical Product Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of comprehensive product management for BigQuery Connectors, Looker dashboards, and AI Agents, overseeing everything from requirements gathering to QA, documentation, and continual health assessments.

• Collaborate with division leaders and subject matter experts to establish product specifications and acceptance criteria.

• Track product health, usage metrics, and production incidents; respond to issues with promptness.

• Provide recommendations on potential productization, sunset options, maintenance, or optimization strategies.

• Manage the entire sprint planning process in conjunction with a Project Manager.

• Supervise data engineer hours and priorities throughout sprint cycles.

• Handle backlog prioritization, capacity planning, and accountability for sprint completions.

• Navigate competing priorities among new developments, maintenance tasks, and custom client projects.

• Oversee the productization of validated R&D innovations alongside the Director of Engineering & Product.

• Enable Engineering teams to convert prototypes into products ready for production.

• Develop maintenance plans and support models; collaborate with the Innovation team on handoff requirements.

• Cultivate cross-functional relationships with R&D, division leaders, Marketing, and AI Strategy.

• Act as the main contact for data product inquiries and timelines.

• Convey technical constraints and capacity realities through clear communication to stakeholders.

• Manage data access and permissions across Looker and various data platforms.

• Oversee platform integrations, system administration, and adherence to data security and client confidentiality standards.

• Maintain monitoring dashboards to ensure system health and usage tracking.

• Lead Product Managers, conducting performance evaluations and career development discussions.

• Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and success criteria as the team expands.

• Enhance product management skills in direct reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• You possess practical product management experience, including crafting specifications, testing features, and maintaining documentation, rather than just supervising others.

• You have experience with data-intensive products and are adept at discussing pipelines, APIs, and architecture with engineers.

• You have been involved in agile sprint planning, backlog ownership, capacity management, and achieving sprint commitments.

• You can balance competing priorities across various product lines while maintaining velocity and quality.

• You are capable of making decisions based on incomplete information in a dynamic environment.

• You communicate effectively, translating technical realities into accessible language for non-technical stakeholders.

• You have experience in managing or mentoring team members and prioritize empowering individuals alongside product development.

• You utilize AI tools to enhance research, analysis, or product tasks and are always seeking ways to leverage technology.

• Bonus points if:

• You are familiar with BigQuery, Looker, or similar data platforms in a product ownership capacity.

• You have launched AI agent products or agentic workflows in a production setting.

• You have crafted production-ready standards or productization playbooks from the ground up.

• You come from an agency or consulting background where client requirements and product roadmap efforts had to coexist effectively.
