Technical Product Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the roadmap for a Pod.

• Identify significant problems to address by engaging directly with brokers, carriers, internal partners, and customers.

• Translate business intentions into initiatives that enhance metrics.

• Manage business outcomes by tracking metrics, reporting progress, and discontinuing initiatives that prove ineffective.

• Decompose each initiative into actionable units: projects that deliver tangible results.

• Draft comprehensive high-level product requirements for every project, ensuring sufficient detail for planning, sizing, and staffing.

• Aggregate projects into a rough t-shirt size (multi-month or single month).

• Conduct product reviews for each funded project to ensure the solution addresses the right issue, the experience aligns, and the scope is maintained.

• Determine the roles of AI in the workflow, identifying where human involvement is necessary and where human judgment is imperative.

• Facilitate the adoption of the products developed by your Pod.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience managing a product area in insurtech, B2B SaaS, or a regulated industry.

• A history of fostering adoption beyond mere product launches.

• Background in overseeing a product area where the core workflow was fundamentally redesigned by AI technology, rather than just enhanced.

• Sufficient technical proficiency to collaborate effectively with engineers utilizing AI tools.

• Familiarity with using AI tools in your own work processes.

• Capability to bridge communication between business stakeholders and engineers, preserving clarity in both directions.

• A strong interest in the insurance domain.

• A humble demeanor coupled with a high Emotional Quotient (EQ).

• Experience collaborating with distributed and remote teams.
