This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Serve as both a technical strategist and solution architect throughout the entire sales process.
• Collaborate directly with DoD and federal clients to ensure technology solutions align with mission objectives.
• Exhibit a strong understanding of technologies within our strategic partner ecosystem.
• Contribute technically—not merely conceptually—through the creation of proof-of-concept builds, laboratory work, and architecture validation.
• Advance technical discussions beyond superficial sales conversations.
• Team up with Account Executives to cultivate technically robust pursuit strategies that support federal mission goals.
• Convert customer needs into secure, compliant, and scalable solution architectures.
• Aid capture initiatives with technical positioning, competitive differentiation, and architectural insights.
• Assess technical feasibility prior to advancing opportunities and assist in shaping realistic, defendable solution paths.
• Design solutions across various domains including Zero Trust, DevSecOps, SOC modernization, Kubernetes security, AI infrastructure, hybrid cloud, and adaptive IT environments.
• Create reference architectures and deployment models that consider IL levels, compliance requirements, and operational limitations.
• Engage with customer engineers in in-depth technical validation discussions.
• Extract technical insights that enhance executive-level messaging and sales positioning.
• Design and construct proof-of-concepts in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI), client environments, home lab, or lab infrastructure.
• Establish representative workloads to validate architectural patterns.
• Support technical validation engagements, whether on-site or remote.
• Troubleshoot, modify, and iterate based on real-world feedback.
• Contribute to the creation of solution briefs, architectural diagrams, whitepapers, and technical blog content.
• Assist in refining our client's solution articles and capability narratives.
• Conduct research on emerging technologies, federal mandates, and evolving partner capabilities.
• Assess and provide feedback on potential future strategic partners.
• Maintain alignment with key technology partners to stay updated on roadmaps, capabilities, and field strategies.
• Build long-term technical relationships with client engineers and architects.
• Perform periodic customer check-ins to stay aware of evolving mission requirements.
• Function as a long-term technical advisor rather than a transactional presales resource.
• Keep updated on federal cybersecurity directives, Zero Trust frameworks, DevSecOps mandates, and compliance obligations.
• Ensure solution designs are in accordance with DoD security, accreditation, and operational realities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of experience in technical presales, solutions engineering, or consulting.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity, cloud, and infrastructure technologies.
• Experience with DoD or federal agencies is highly preferred.
• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
• Capacity to simplify complex technical concepts.
• Advanced and professional-level certifications are preferred.
• Candidates should exhibit subject-matter expertise through recognized industry certifications (e.g., professional, expert, or specialty-level), rather than entry-level or associate-only credentials.
• Associate-level certifications are not disqualifying, but a depth of domain mastery should be apparent.
• Relevant certifications may include, but are not limited to: CISSP, CCSP, Kubernetes (CKA, CKAD, CKS), Palo Alto Networks (PCNSE or equivalent), Nutanix (NCP-MCI, NCM-MCI, or higher), F5 (CA, CTS, or higher), CyberArk (Defender/Sentry level), Dell (Expert-level infrastructure or AI-focused credentials), Rancher Government Solutions (RKE2/Kubernetes-focused certifications), AWS Professional-level (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) or Specialty certifications, Trellix, Elastic (Engineer or higher).
