This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the design, development, and enhancement of enterprise software systems that cater to federal mission requirements.
• Spearhead engineering initiatives throughout the complete software development lifecycle, from architecture to deployment.
• Create scalable, secure, and maintainable backend applications leveraging contemporary engineering best practices.
• Design and implement APIs utilizing REST and GraphQL.
• Facilitate system design discussions, architecture evaluations, and technical decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, DevSecOps, and infrastructure teams to provide cohesive technical solutions.
• Diagnose intricate application, integration, and system performance challenges.
• Contribute to cloud modernization efforts, application refactoring, and enhancements in platform engineering.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers while establishing engineering standards and best practices.
• Ensure secure software delivery, uphold code quality, automate testing, and integrate CI/CD pipelines.
• Convert business and mission requirements into actionable technical implementation strategies.
• Candidates must be US Citizens and capable of obtaining Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• A minimum of 9 years of professional experience in software engineering, specifically in enterprise application development.
• Proven technical leadership experience, including mentoring, conducting code reviews, and owning architecture.
• Strong practical knowledge of Ruby, Ruby on Rails, React, Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.
• Experience in designing distributed systems, microservices, integrations, and scalable enterprise applications.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, system design, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
• Experience in building cloud-native applications within AWS/Azure environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, source control, and DevSecOps methodologies.
• Knowledge of secure software development principles, API security, and best practices for application security.
• Experience in troubleshooting production systems, enhancing performance, and providing operational support.
• Excellent communication and technical leadership abilities.
