This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, development, and enhancement of enterprise software systems that cater to federal mission requirements.

• Propel engineering initiatives throughout the complete software development lifecycle, from architecture to deployment.

• Create scalable, secure, and maintainable backend applications utilizing modern engineering best practices.

• Design and implement APIs using REST and GraphQL.

• Facilitate system design discussions, architecture evaluations, and technical decision-making processes.

• Collaborate with product, architecture, DevSecOps, and infrastructure teams to provide cohesive technical solutions.

• Resolve complex issues related to applications, integrations, and system performance.

• Engage in cloud modernization, application refactoring, and enhancements in platform engineering.

• Guide junior and mid-level engineers while establishing engineering standards and best practices.

• Ensure secure software delivery, maintain code quality, facilitate testing automation, and integrate CI/CD pipelines.

• Convert business and mission requirements into actionable technical implementation strategies.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Over 9 years of professional experience in software engineering, particularly in enterprise application development.

• Proficient hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, OpenJDK, GraphQL, Ruby on Rails, and REST APIs.

• Experience in designing distributed systems, microservices, integrations, and scalable enterprise applications.

• Strong grasp of software architecture, system design, design patterns, and engineering best practices.

• Familiarity with building cloud-native applications in AWS or Azure.

• Proficient with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, source control, and DevSecOps practices.

• Knowledge of secure software development principles, API security, and application security best practices.

• Experience in troubleshooting production systems, performance optimization, and operational support.

• Excellent communication and technical leadership abilities.

• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes), event-driven architecture, or serverless platforms.

• Understanding of Zero Trust principles and secure systems integration.

• Experience working with federal government agencies.
