Technical Lead, Full Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop new internal services from the ground up, ensuring production readiness and widespread usage across various engineering teams.

• Create customer-facing applications utilizing React, Next.js, and TypeScript, supported by proprietary services.

• Construct administration backends, customizable workflow tools, and interfaces for developers.

• Maintain robust API contracts, focusing on versioning, backward compatibility, SDK management, and zero-downtime migrations.

• Organize reusable components and direct engineers towards suitable design patterns.

• Design and refine data models across PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.

• Manage services by implementing SLOs, instrumentation, alerting systems, and incident management in Datadog.

• Promote advanced development practices, automation of delivery, coverage, and testing infrastructure.

• Author RFCs, design documents, and integration guidelines.

• Provide mentorship to engineers utilizing shared services.

• Collaborate with QA, Platform, and Security teams.

• Oversee specifications, harnesses, test strategies, and review protocols for AI-assisted engineering.

• Foster adoption, reliability, interface management, delivery speed, and technical influence.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.

• Over 8 years of professional software engineering experience throughout the complete software development life cycle (SDLC).

• Extensive experience in backend and platform engineering.

• Proven experience managing production enterprise systems over several years.

• Expertise in versioning widely-used interfaces, conducting deprecation cycles, migrating users, and sustaining critical systems.

• Proficient in taking services from concept to production and facilitating their adoption by other teams.

• Strong ability to build consensus among teams without formal authority.

• Experience in negotiating migration schedules, conducting design reviews, and crafting technical arguments in written form.

• Skilled in mentoring junior engineers and tailoring communication for diverse audiences.

• Proficient in agentic and AI-assisted development within production workflows.

• Comprehensive knowledge of TypeScript from end to end, including discriminated unions, generics, branded types, and runtime validation.

• Familiarity with modern JavaScript features, including Node streams, native fetch, AsyncLocalStorage, ESM, top-level await, and other related functionalities.

• Extensive experience with Node.js and NestJS; significant expertise with Express or Fastify, with strong dependency injection fundamentals as an acceptable alternative.

• Proficiency in React and Next.js, including hooks, App Router, server components, SSR/CSR trade-offs, and typed clients.

• Practical experience integrating authentication solutions with NextAuth and Auth0 federation.

• Knowledge of REST and/or GraphQL API design, including idempotency, pagination, contract testing, and semantic versioning.

• Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL modeling for transactional financial data and MongoDB modeling for flexible, versioned documents.

• Familiarity with asynchronous and event-driven systems utilizing RabbitMQ, SQS, or Kafka.

• Testing proficiency with Jest, Supertest, Playwright or Cypress, and Testcontainers.

• Experience with cloud-native delivery using AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions, and continuous delivery tooling.

• Ability to instrument services and establish SLOs.

• Understanding of AI capabilities, limitations, risk management, and human-in-the-loop methodologies.

• Preferred: experience in financial systems, identity and access management, compliance-focused engineering, workflow engines, platform/developer experience, feature flagging, public-sector/GovTech, or open-source contributions.
