Senior / Staff Software Engineer – Parser Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the parser framework, focusing on abstraction patterns, parser primitives, performance optimization, reliability, and testability.

• Make informed decisions regarding schema mapping and normalization, including the management of ambiguous or malformed data and the evolution of the framework.

• Lead high-impact parser integrations from start to finish.

• Collaborate with detection, data, and integration teams to facilitate downstream use cases.

• Provide mentorship to junior engineers through design discussions and code reviews.

• Design, develop, and maintain components for parsing and normalizing security data sourced from hundreds of origins.

• Utilize AI-assisted coding, test generation, code review, log analysis, regression testing, schema diffing, and sample ingestion workflows.

• Assist in the integration of AI tools into parser workflows and evaluate efficiency improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience with a focus on data parsing, integration, or log processing.

• Strong expertise in Python, Java, Ruby, or C++.

• Extensive knowledge of JSON, XML, CSV, syslog, key-value, and unstructured text formats.

• Proficient in regular expressions and pattern-matching techniques.

• Understanding of data normalization, schema design, and transformation principles.

• Experience with integrating APIs, web services, and streaming data sources.

• Proven experience with AI tools like Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT to enhance engineering workflows.

• Ability to discern when AI outputs necessitate human oversight.

• Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts and data from security tools.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Preferred: experience with cybersecurity tools and platforms, cloud platforms and logging services, big data and streaming technologies, Docker, Kubernetes, LLM-based log analysis or parser generation, and MCP, function calling, or agent frameworks.
