Technical Lead, Backend – Identity Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architecture and development of entitlements management, provisioning systems, and operational workflows for comprehensive Identity Platform customer lifecycle management.

• Collaborate with US-based Product Management and cross-platform architecture teams.

• Establish a solid foundation for scalable user experiences for Identity Platform users and identity-related workflows.

• Analyze internal or external business requirements and suggest best practices.

• Address complex, mission-critical challenges and propose innovative, sustainable solutions.

• Shape the software engineering roadmap and architectural choices with an emphasis on security, scalability, and reliability.

• Utilize AI-assisted development to achieve business objectives.

• Offer expertise in the software development lifecycle and agile engineering methodologies across teams and partners.

• Guide and mentor team members, enhance technical solution design, and promote customer-centric features.

• Articulate delivery trade-offs and negotiate with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment in direction and outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 6 years, or a PhD with 3 years of relevant experience.

• Proficiency in distributed systems and microservices architecture.

• Experience in programming with Python or other contemporary languages utilizing asynchronous programming patterns.

• Familiarity with React and TypeScript, including reactive state management, modern build tools, and scalable component architecture.

• Preferred: Over 8 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership position.

• Preferred: Experience in building REST APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and code generation workflows.

• Preferred: Proven track record of delivering business results using AI-assisted development practices.

• Preferred: Background in delivering quality software through automated testing, continuous delivery, and agile methodologies.

• Preferred: Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, WebAuthn/FIDO2, and mTLS.

• Preferred: Strong understanding of security best practices in web development.
