This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the technical team and oversee the technical foundation of the Autonomous and Unmanned Systems Domain, providing mentorship and fostering growth for software and DevSecOps engineers.
• Take ownership of architectural decisions that align with secure software development, application security, and CI/CD best practices.
• Articulate technical priorities to product management while managing technical complexities, scalability, and maintainability.
• Ensure a unified architecture across capabilities and facilitate integration with the common platform baseline.
• Translate operational requirements into product functionalities that align with mission objectives.
• Act as a technical leader in software, communications, and platform technologies.
• Develop interfaces for individual assets and fleets of autonomous and unmanned systems.
• Create and implement data-rich user interfaces that reflect the real-time state of distributed systems.
• Design workflows for deploying, updating, and monitoring systems in edge, remote, and disconnected environments.
• Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs, platform services, and communication technologies.
• Collaborate with UX teams to deliver intuitive user experiences for complex system behaviors.
• Establish unit, integration, and user acceptance testing strategies.
• Define technical roadmaps in collaboration with customers and product stakeholders.
• Assess technologies and products for mission capability, architecture, and security implications.
• Support customer integrations, demonstrations, testing events, and operational exercises.
• Communicate and operate effectively in an asynchronous, fully remote setting.
• Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams that develop complex software systems.
• Expertise in resolving highly technical issues across diverse knowledge areas.
• Hands-on technical proficiency in at least two fields: autonomous/unmanned systems; tactical-edge networking; distributed systems; container and software supply chain tooling.
• Familiarity with ROS2/DDS, MAVLink, CoT/TAK, and at least one interoperability standard: STANAG 4586/4817, JAUS, Link16/TADL-J, OMS/UCI, or MOSA/SOSA.
• Experience in leading remote engineering teams within distributed organizations.
• Proven experience in defining technical roadmaps and collaborating with product management.
• Expertise in analyzing complex issues and implementing innovative solutions.
• Ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Capacity to work independently, manage competing priorities, and excel in a fully remote environment.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Special Operations processes and solutions, tactical communications/radio/edge networking integration, TAK Server, CoT schemas, ATAK plugins, edge AI hardware, DoD ATO systems, automated testing, Agile methodologies, Kubernetes, and an active Secret or Top Secret clearance.
