Technical ITAM Analyst, Hardware, Discovery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Assist in the daily implementation of IT Asset Management by gathering, maintaining, and verifying asset information.

• Detect risks and inconsistencies, ensuring adherence to ITAM processes at all times.

• Convert established ITAM policies and procedures into precise operational data that aids in compliance, cost management, and decision-making.

• Utilize Flexera to locate and rectify data inconsistencies; ensure that hardware models, serial numbers, and technical specifications are accurately categorized and aligned.

• Oversee the performance of Flexera agents and beacons throughout the global organization; identify areas where hardware is not reporting and collaborate with local IT to restore visibility.

• Serve as the initial point of contact for regional ITAM representatives; offer them technical support on how to accurately update asset statuses and effectively use the global toolset.

• Conduct regular reconciliations between Flexera and ITSM (EasyVista) to ensure synchronization of hardware lifecycle states.

• Generate technical reports regarding asset health, hardware age, and discovery coverage to assist the Manager in identifying risks and areas for enhancement.

• Aid in the technical "offboarding" of equipment, ensuring that retired assets are properly decommissioned in the system and that data is wiped/verified in accordance with policy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 2 years of practical experience with Flexera One or FlexNet Manager (specifically the Hardware/ITAM modules).

• Strong capability to investigate the reasons behind a device's absence from discovery tools (including checking logs, network connectivity, or agent status).

• Understanding of how tools such as InTune, Nagios, or SolarWinds gather and report hardware inventory data.

• Proficient in Excel (lookups and pivots are essential skills) and basic SQL to extract and compare datasets from various sources.

• Possess a natural talent for identifying "bad data" (e.g., duplicate serial numbers or inconsistent hardware specifications).

• Enjoy collaborating with diverse teams across different time zones.

• Comfortable navigating through complex data to uncover the root cause of technical discrepancies.

• Capable of clearly explaining a technical process or data requirement to local IT staff who may have conflicting priorities.
