Technical Illustrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop technical diagrams, infographics, iconography, conceptual graphics, and various other visual assets.

• Occasionally create creative illustrations, which will account for about 5% of the overall workload.

• Convert technical and conceptual data into clear, precise, and visually appealing graphics.

• Collaborate with writers, content strategists, engineers, product teams, and subject-matter experts to ensure visual precision and clarity.

• Implement brand standards, style guidelines, and accessibility requirements across all deliverables.

• Prepare and optimize graphics for digital platforms in formats such as JPG, PNG, SVG, and EPS.

• Follow best practices for resolution, aspect ratios, and optimization of digital assets.

• Utilize Markdown, GitHub, and Cursor in the content development process.

• Organize and manage editable source files and production-ready assets in accordance with team conventions.

• Oversee revisions, incorporate feedback, maintain consistency across illustration sets, and ensure timely delivery of work.

• Function independently as well as collaboratively within a remote, cross-functional team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience.

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.

• A portfolio showcasing technical diagrams, infographics, and vector-based graphics that effectively communicate complex concepts.

• Capability to translate technical source materials into accurate and well-organized visual communications.

• Strong understanding of digital graphics production for web and presentation platforms.

• Familiarity with resolution, aspect ratios, and file formats including JPG, PNG, SVG, and EPS.

• Experience in applying established brand systems, which include color palettes, typography, iconography, illustration styles, and templates.

• High attention to detail, visual quality, and technical precision.

• Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient written and spoken English business communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and remotely.

• Preferred: experience in creating conceptual graphics and creative illustrations.

• Preferred: working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• Preferred: familiarity with vector asset libraries, design systems, and reusable illustration components.

• Preferred: experience in preparing graphics for documentation, web pages, presentations, social media, and print.

• Preferred: experience in creating technical visualizations for networking, cloud, security, software architecture, or related technical fields.

• Training will be provided; prior experience with Markdown, GitHub, and Cursor is beneficial but not mandatory.

• Training will also be provided for accessibility-focused visual design practices and AI tools, along with prompting techniques.
