Technical Director – Internet Storm Center

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the operational and strategic advancement of the SANS Internet Storm Center (ISC)

• Manage the infrastructure that supports ISC data collection, which includes honeypot networks and related systems

• Collaborate on research projects alongside SANS subject matter experts and team members

• Supervise the ISC website and the technical platforms that support it

• Oversee the development and upkeep of honeypot software

• Coordinate daily publication timelines and contributions from volunteer handlers

• Supervise SANS.edu student interns working with ISC

• Generate technical analyses and content for ISC publications

• Act as the primary media liaison for ISC

• Host or contribute to the Internet Storm Center Daily Podcast

• Provide technical content and analysis for SANS NewsBites and @Risk newsletters

• Maintain vulnerability intelligence systems that are utilized to identify, prioritize, and communicate emerging cybersecurity threats

• Execute other related tasks as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven expertise in cybersecurity research, threat intelligence, or security operations

• Experience in mentoring student research and supervising academic or technical professionals

• Strong technical foundation in cybersecurity, encompassing applied security research and incident response

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities

• Experience in producing technical publications aimed at professional audiences

• Demonstrated leadership within the cybersecurity community through research, publications, presentations, or other recognized contributions

• Must possess unrestricted authorization to work in the USA
