This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Leading technical projects that span across engineering, product, data, and operations teams.
• Fully accountable for project ownership and delivery, going beyond mere status updates.
• Collaborating with engineers to develop solutions, identify gaps in technical approaches, and maintain momentum in a dynamic Agile environment.
• Engaging in technical discussions with sufficient depth to contribute meaningfully.
• Managing projects from start to finish, including defining scope, scheduling, managing dependencies, mitigating risks, and communicating with stakeholders.
• Keeping track of project progress, aligning sprints, and reporting to provide stakeholders with clear visibility.
• Leading project reviews, design meetings, and decision-making sessions to eliminate obstacles and ensure team alignment.
• Continuously enhancing delivery processes, tools, and documentation.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–6 years of experience in technical project management or software delivery, with a background that includes hands-on engineering, development, or solution architecture roles.
• Strong grasp of contemporary software development practices, including cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Practical experience with engineering technology stacks such as .NET, Java, React, Python, or JavaScript frameworks.
• Sufficient technical depth to follow discussions and pose pertinent questions.
• Capability to coordinate cross-functional teams and juggle competing priorities across simultaneous projects.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, or comparable project management systems.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced Agile environment where priorities can change rapidly and speed of iteration is crucial.
• Experience with healthcare data, interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7, claims data), or regulated environments is advantageous.
• A proactive ownership mentality; when problems arise, you take initiative to resolve them without waiting for guidance.
• Ability to devise solution options when faced with trade-offs and to present recommendations rather than just raising questions.
• Experience collaborating with distributed teams and coordinating delivery across various stakeholders.
