Technical Consultant, AppDev

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Execute hands-on development for both greenfield and brownfield application projects.

• Design, code, test, debug, and deploy high-quality production code across contemporary application frameworks.

• Take ownership of specified features, components, and small workstreams from implementation to delivery with minimal oversight.

• Develop and uphold automated tests to ensure functional, performance, and security standards are met.

• Engage in code reviews both as an author and a reviewer.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools for tasks like code generation, refactoring, debugging, test creation, and documentation.

• Integrate AI into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities, including test coverage, engineering documentation, story refinement, and technical research.

• Evaluate and confirm AI-generated outputs prior to committing them.

• Create and document designs at the component and feature levels for both the team and clients.

• Employ established design patterns while identifying common anti-patterns.

• Mentor Associate and Senior Associate Technical Consultants through collaborative coding, code review feedback, and daily guidance.

• Manage quality, timelines, and transitions for assigned tasks; proactively highlight risks and obstacles.

• Act as a liaison for client project-team stakeholders, presenting and defending work in client meetings.

• Develop and modernize web applications, mobile applications, APIs, functions, and associated platform services within client projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in a second programming language: Java, C#, JavaScript, or Python.

• Proven capability to write, test, debug, and deliver production-grade code with minimal supervision.

• Strong comprehension of the software development lifecycle and Agile delivery methodologies.

• Hands-on experience with automated testing and effective testing strategies for reliable production-ready code.

• Familiarity with design patterns and anti-patterns, with the ability to create component-level and feature-level design documents.

• Experience in building or modernizing applications, APIs, and cloud-native services using modern development frameworks and DevOps methodologies.

• Knowledge of security practices, CI/CD, source control methods, logging, and monitoring.

• Proficiency with AI development tools, particularly Claude Code; experience with Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, Continue.dev, and similar tools is advantageous.

• Capability to apply prompting, context management, and output validation, as well as utilize AI for tasks beyond coding, such as test creation, documentation, and technical research.

• Ability to work autonomously on defined scopes, manage competing priorities, and recognize when to escalate ambiguous or high-risk decisions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate technical work to client project-team stakeholders.
