This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Serve as a technical subject matter expert on HealthSense high fiber wheat flour, receiving training from BSM.
• Create new business prospects by leveraging a mix of incoming leads and proactive outreach within a technical network.
• Utilize technical expertise to stimulate interest and kickstart development projects at targeted companies, appealing to various audiences including marketing, R&D, and innovation teams.
• Actively engage with internal commercial teams to pinpoint opportunity areas to explore and assist in new business presentations.
• Employ technical sales resources such as the Jobs To Be Done framework, protein and fiber analyses, alongside knowledge of agricultural practices and nutrition to bring customer projects to fruition.
• Utilize customer relationship management tools to oversee specific customer opportunities throughout the sales process.
• Participate in trade shows and speaking engagements, contributing to media as a credible technical thought leader.
• Work with R&D, marketing, and third parties to develop and present finished product concepts and prototypes, demonstrating the efficacy and relevance of HealthSense.
• Direct experience in a food-related R&D, innovation, or technical sales role, with a proven ability to navigate projects through the new product development lifecycle.
• Preferred experience with wheat-based food products.
• A solid background in a technical position (6-10 years), with customer-facing experience being an advantage.
• Proficient in communicating insights and information both internally and externally in a clear, concise manner—both verbally and in writing.
• Proven capability to deliver data-driven recommendations and analyses in a clear and compelling way.
• Demonstrated ability to influence various stakeholders, taking into account functional and cultural differences, seniority levels, and both internal and external perspectives.
• Ability to operate independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team to manage multiple projects while influencing stakeholders and meeting competing deadlines.
• Excellent representation of Bay State Milling with professionalism, integrity, and diplomacy.
• Strong organizational abilities to prioritize effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, while also being a capable independent contributor able to thrive with autonomous decision-making.
• Additional Qualifications: Experience in the food industry promoting innovative products, particularly in a start-up setting.
• Genuine passion for food innovation and delivering solutions that enhance consumer health.
• Strong ambition to achieve success and foster growth.
• Knowledge of agriculture and nutritional science is a plus.
• Up to 40% travel.
