Technical Business Analyst – Fintech / Lending / Payments

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Converting high-level business visions into detailed and structured technical requirements.

• Developing clear specifications for features that are ready for development, including acceptance criteria, edge cases, and workflows.

• Designing and documenting comprehensive system workflows, multi-party interactions (involving applicants, merchants, lenders, and internal operations), payment and money movement logic, role and permission matrices, as well as modeling system integrations and data flows between internal and external services.

• Collaborating tightly with engineers on API design and integration-related decisions.

• Working in close partnership with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams to clarify requirements prior to the commencement of development.

• Assisting in backlog grooming and prioritization alongside the Project Manager.

• Maintaining organized, version-controlled documentation in Confluence.

• Early identification of logic gaps, risk areas, and compliance issues during the design phase.

• Aiding in the definition of API requirements and integration planning with third-party providers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a technical setting.

• Extensive experience in fintech, including payments, lending, underwriting, or financial systems.

• Practical experience with API analysis, particularly REST (GraphQL experience is an advantage).

• Capability to read and thoroughly understand API documentation (such as Swagger / OpenAPI), identifying gaps, risks, and dependencies.

• Experience in modeling system integrations and complex data flows.

• Proficient in working with APIs, system integrations, and backend-driven platforms.

• Strong documentation skills, creating specifications that engineers value.

• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence for structured documentation beyond mere notes.

• Proficiency in creating BPMN diagrams, UML diagrams, Sequence diagrams, and State diagrams.

• Excellent stakeholder communication skills, with a minimum English proficiency of B2.

• Ability to challenge assumptions and pinpoint inconsistencies.
