Technical Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Develop technical architecture designs for corporate platforms and customer solutions across on-premise, data center, and public cloud environments.

• Assess architecture and design alternatives, providing evidence-based recommendations that balance both functional and non-functional requirements.

• Collaborate closely with delivery teams to facilitate implementation, including knowledge transfer and hands-on support.

• Engage in the architecture peer review process.

• Present technical designs to the Technical Assurance Board and assist in assurance discussions.

• Contribute to technology roadmaps and explore technologies for controlled adoption.

• Work alongside Security Architects to ensure appropriate protection of workloads.

• Stay informed about emerging technologies, platforms, and industry trends relevant to NEC’s services and clientele.

• Offer practical guidance during implementation, ensuring that solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in producing technical architecture designs.

• Strong comprehension of compute, networking, storage, virtualization, and cloud technologies.

• Confidence in balancing delivery pressures with design quality and long-term sustainability.

• Ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience in the UK public sector is highly regarded.

• Proficiency with Azure, AWS, or OCI is highly valued.

• Experience in server virtualization, networking, and storage is highly valued.

• Candidates must show a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK.

• Documentary evidence of UK right to work and travel is necessary.

• Satisfactory vetting, references, and occupational health checks are required.

• Current Security Check (SC) clearance or higher, Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) Level 3, or the ability to obtain Enhanced Security Clearance, in addition to the Baseline Personnel Security Standard.
