Middle Backend Developer, Node.js

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop clean, testable, and maintainable JavaScript/TypeScript code using an object-oriented programming approach.

• Take ownership of backend functionalities from the analysis of requirements through to implementation, testing, and deployment.

• Create documentation for the code delivered and the technical decisions made.

• Evaluate code written by fellow developers, providing constructive feedback and facilitating knowledge sharing.

• Design and adapt fundamental database structures and API contracts.

• Suggest practical enhancements and proactive ideas for the product and team processes.

• Share insights to help diagnose issues, communicate potential risks, and maintain a focus on solutions.

• Engage in project discussions, refinements, and the technical decision-making process.

• Comprehend client requirements and recommend practical solutions following team consultations.

• Mentor less experienced team members through code reviews, explanations, and pair programming sessions.

• Utilize AI tools responsibly, ensuring that results are verified and adapted to meet production standards.

• Collaborate with clients in the US across various industries, including FinTech, SportsTech, and MedTech.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of commercial experience working with Node.js.

• Proficient in at least one Node.js backend framework, such as Express.js, NestJS, or Fastify.

• Strong expertise in TypeScript, covering static typing, advanced types, and TypeScript compiler configuration.

• Familiarity with NoSQL and/or in-memory databases.

• Experience with SQL databases and ORM or query builder tools, such as Prisma or Knex.

• Practical experience in contributing to AI-powered backend features, including LLM API integration, basic RAG flows, or simple agent-style workflows.

• Solid understanding of AI/LLM context, prompts, and their limitations.

• Proficient in English at a B2 level and Polish at a C1 level.

• Capability to work with various frameworks and comprehend MVP priorities.

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Familiarity with SOLID and KISS principles.

• Knowledge of design and architectural patterns.

• Understanding of Docker and GitHub Actions.

• Basic familiarity with AWS services.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, Docker, AWS, and early-stage product development is a plus.
