Technical Application Consultant, Oracle Database, Apache Tomcat, httpd

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Implement software updates for both customer non-production and production systems.

• Execute technology upgrades for Oracle Database, Apache Tomcat, Apache Web Server, and Jasper Reports Server.

• Install new software developed by NEC Software Solutions.

• Diagnose and resolve software installation and upgrade issues.

• Conduct scripted backup and restore operations.

• Provide support to over 100 customers utilizing on-premise, private cloud, and public cloud systems.

• Engage with customers through video conferencing and email communication.

• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and distribute workloads effectively.

• Be available to work approximately one weekend each month to facilitate upgrades to production systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be based in the UK due to customer security requirements.

• Pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK; documentary proof is a must.

• Completion of satisfactory vetting and reference checks.

• A Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check may be necessary depending on the specific role.

• Proficient in managing Oracle Database 19c, including upgrades.

• Experience with both single-instance and container databases.

• Skilled in installing and maintaining software on Oracle Linux or Red Hat Linux.

• Experience in direct customer interaction through video conferencing and email.

• Knowledge of deploying Apache Tomcat-based web applications.

• Expertise in configuring and managing Apache Web Server.

• Competent in installing and maintaining software on Microsoft Windows Server operating systems.

• Proficient in Linux bash scripting.

• Experience in performing Ansible-scripted database and software backups and recovery.

• Understanding of network architecture, including private networks and DMZs.
