This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Offer commercial technical assistance to both existing and prospective clients.
• Resolve processing challenges and participate in processing trials.
• Aid in material selection and conduct reviews of part/mold designs.
• Represent the technical expert at customer meetings.
• Create and present technical workshops and presentations.
• Address technical inquiries and provide technical literature, data sheets, material properties, and other relevant documents.
• Help identify the causes of part failures.
• Support the specification approval process.
• Collaborate on competitive offset lists and assist Business Development Managers with special projects.
• Supply data, literature, and additional technical information as needed.
• Respond to inquiries regarding plastics, including material properties, processing, equipment, and testing.
• Engage in technical discussions during customer conference calls.
• Draft visit reports and share information accordingly.
• Provide internal sales and management assistance, as well as external customer support within a designated geographical area.
• Carry out other assigned responsibilities.
• A Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Material Science, Supply Chain, or related field is required.
• Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Preferably, a minimum of 5 years of pertinent work experience in a similar role with corresponding responsibilities.
• A demonstrated financial business acumen based on prior work experience.
• Sales or sales management experience is preferred.
• Experience in commodity and/or engineering plastics markets.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Proficiency in English is mandatory.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Bilingual skills in Spanish or Portuguese are advantageous.
• Capability to manage time and travel schedules efficiently.
• Ability to prioritize and complete projects and tasks in a timely manner.
• Capacity to push, pull, and lift up to 40 lbs weekly.
• Proficient in setting up desk equipment, including connecting cables and power cords.
• Ongoing training opportunities, including supplier-specific seminars, industry seminars, formal courses, travel with other Technical Service Engineers, and reading technical literature.
• Flexibility to work remotely from a home office.
• Travel by car, with air travel required when necessary.
