📋 Description

• Build, nurture, and expand a team of Senior PHP Engineers.

• Engage in the hiring process and conduct thorough technical and architectural interviews.

• Design efficient onboarding programs for seasoned engineers.

• Foster engagement, motivation, and long-term retention of essential talent.

• Conduct routine 1-on-1 meetings, performance evaluations, and career development discussions.

• Facilitate architectural discussions and steer technical decision-making.

• Assist senior engineers in reaching consensus on complex technical issues.

• Encourage a culture of engineering autonomy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Uphold high standards for code quality, software design, and engineering practices.

• Establish and refine development processes utilizing Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).

• Support task breakdown, estimation, planning, and execution.

• Lead code reviews and ensure compliance with architectural and coding standards.

• Drive the design and evolution of scalable backend architectures created with PHP.

• Assess and introduce architectural patterns, frameworks, and integration methodologies.

• Guarantee long-term maintainability, reliability, and scalability of the platform.

• Oversee database design and optimization for high-throughput environments.

• Enhance performance of MySQL-based systems managing thousands of queries per second.

• Design and support analytical integrations utilizing ClickHouse.

• Create dependable asynchronous processing solutions using Apache Kafka.

• Lead the implementation of event-driven communication between services.

• Take ownership of service stability and production reliability.

• Propel monitoring and observability initiatives using Prometheus and Grafana.

• Lead incident response efforts and coordinate root cause analysis.

• Establish post-mortem practices and continuous improvement processes.

• Collaborate with Product Owners, DevOps Engineers, QA teams, and other Team Leads.

• Align engineering priorities with business objectives and delivery targets.

• Ensure effective communication among technical and non-technical stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 2 years of experience as a Team Lead or Tech Lead managing PHP engineering teams.

• Demonstrated experience in hiring, mentoring, and leading Senior Engineers.

• Strong people management abilities with a coaching and servant leadership approach.

• Capability to cultivate a peer-to-peer culture without micromanaging.

• More than 6 years of commercial PHP development experience.

• Expert proficiency in PHP 8.x and contemporary backend development practices.

• Profound understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, and software architecture.

• Significant experience with Symfony and/or Laravel.

• Advanced knowledge of MySQL, encompassing:

• - Query optimization

• - Indexing strategies

• - Replication

• - Performance tuning

• - Concurrency and lock optimization

• Experience with Redis.

• Familiarity with ClickHouse or other analytical databases.

• Substantial practical experience with Apache Kafka.

• Good understanding of:

• - CI/CD pipelines

• - Docker

• - Kubernetes

• - Linux environments

• - Networking fundamentals

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong facilitation and conflict-resolution capabilities.

• Experience in conducting performance reviews and mentoring engineers.

• Ability to translate business objectives into actionable engineering initiatives.
