Senior AI – Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Designing and developing scalable backend services (Python, FastAPI) that drive the AI platform.

• Building and optimizing RAG pipelines, AI agent systems, and orchestrating LLM models in production.

• Designing and managing cloud infrastructure (AWS / Azure), including multi-tenant isolation and serverless functionalities.

• Creating a flexible API-driven integration ecosystem along with external connectors.

• Conducting code reviews, maintaining testing standards, and mentoring junior engineers.

• Ensuring system security (JWT, OAuth2, RBAC, protection against prompt injection).

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of commercial experience in backend engineering using Python.

• Strong proficiency in the FastAPI framework (async, Pydantic, dependency injection).

• Familiarity with TypeScript (advanced type system: generics, utility types, conditional types).

• Experience with PostgreSQL (schema design, query optimization, migrations with Alembic).

• Practical knowledge of Celery and asynchronous task processing (Redis / RabbitMQ).

• Solid understanding of cloud technologies: AWS (Lambda, S3, ECS, API Gateway) and/or Azure.

• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI), and IaC (Terraform / AWS CDK).

• Production experience in API integration of LLM models (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini).

• Hands-on experience in building RAG pipelines and working with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, Qdrant).

• Experience with AI agent systems (tool calling, function calling, multi-step reasoning, MCP / Model Context Protocol).

• Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written.
