Team Lead, Engineering – Fluent Commerce

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee the comprehensive implementation and support of Fluent Commerce OMS solutions.

• Create scalable, API-centric, and event-driven OMS architectures.

• Establish solution blueprints that align with retail and eCommerce best practices.

• Evaluate solution designs, configurations, custom extensions, and integration patterns.

• Ensure compliance with performance, security, scalability, and reliability standards.

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of OMS developers and integration engineers.

• Provide practical technical guidance, architectural support, and conduct code reviews.

• Maintain quality through design validation, testing governance, and release readiness.

• Foster Agile delivery methodologies, including sprint planning and execution.

• Supervise integrations with enterprise and commerce systems such as payment gateways (PayPal, Adyen, Stripe), ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.), warehouse management systems (WMS), eCommerce platforms (Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify, Magento), and CRM and loyalty platforms.

• Work extensively with REST APIs, JSON payloads, webhooks, and event-driven architectures.

• Ensure a seamless and reliable data flow between OMS and both downstream and upstream systems.

• Convert complex business requirements into well-structured technical designs.

• Conduct technical and solution-focused workshops with client stakeholders.

• Offer production support, incident triage, and root cause analysis guidance.

• Assist with pre-sales activities, including solution development, estimations, and RFP responses.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of overall IT experience with enterprise systems.

• At least 3 years of direct experience with Fluent Commerce OMS.

• Strong grasp of order lifecycle management and distributed order management (DOM).

• In-depth knowledge of returns, exchanges, cancellations, refunds, and inventory orchestration.

• Extensive experience with REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and asynchronous integrations.

• Excellent skills in debugging, troubleshooting, and performing root cause analysis.

• Practical experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery frameworks.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
