Teaching Assistant – Counseling & Educational Studies

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Assist in evaluating homework, quizzes, and examinations in the online course segment.

• Oversee online discussion forums and engage with students regarding the online course.

• Provide assistance during live discussions.

• Prepare the course platform prior to the course commencement.

• Set up assignment descriptions, deadlines, grade book computations, discussion forums, student resources, practice exams, and mid-term course evaluations.

• Create a training module for future online teaching assistants, which includes preparation materials, troubleshooting advice, and instructions on collaborating with a professor.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Offer students supplementary academic support through effective teaching and tutoring methodologies.

• Provide individualized assistance to students as necessary.

• High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification.

• Additional education may be considered as a substitute for required experience under the JHU equivalency formula.

• A Master’s Degree in Education or a related discipline is preferred.

• Understanding of differentiated instruction.

• Familiarity with educational assessment.

• Knowledge of educational technologies.

• Proficiency in both oral and written communication.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Awareness of student learning outcomes.

• Successful candidates must undergo a pre-employment background check.
