Teaching Assistant, Counseling and Educational Studies

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Offer supplementary academic assistance to students

• Aid students in grasping course material through various teaching and tutoring methods

• Evaluate homework, quizzes, and exams within the online course section

• Oversee online discussion boards and engage with students

• Support during live discussions

• Set up the course site prior to the course commencement

• Organize assignment descriptions, deadlines, grade book calculations, discussion forums, student resources, practice exams, and mid-term evaluations

• Develop a teaching module for future online teaching assistants, including preparation documents, troubleshooting tips, and guidance for collaboration with professors

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Additional education may replace required experience according to the JHU equivalency formula

• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred

• A completed Master’s Degree in a related field is strongly preferred

• Previous teaching experience in the relevant course content area is preferred

• Understanding of differentiated instruction is necessary

• Familiarity with educational assessment is required

• Knowledge of educational technologies is essential

• Proficiency in oral and written communication is crucial

• Strong organizational skills are important

• Awareness of student learning outcomes is necessary

• Successful candidates will undergo a pre-employment background check
