Teacher of the Hearing Impaired

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Deliver itinerant early intervention services to infants and toddlers aged birth to three who have hearing loss in accordance with Part C of IDEA.

• Support infants and toddlers in their homes, childcare facilities, and/or other natural settings.

• Engage in crafting Individualized Family Service Plans alongside families and Child Service Coordinators.

• Prepare written annual progress reports and take part in six-month and annual IFSP evaluations.

• Conduct developmentally suitable language development sessions and provide diagnostic teaching.

• Create and implement instruction customized for each child and their family.

• Demonstrate techniques for families and primary caregivers.

• Identify, design, utilize, and evaluate instructional materials.

• Administer and interpret both formal and informal language assessments at initial, annual, and transition points.

• Supply assessment reports to parents.

• Keep accurate service records, service notes, Medicaid billing documentation, and progress documentation.

• Collaborate with and consult other service providers.

⛳️ Requirements

• NC Teaching License in Education of the Hearing Impaired or qualifications to secure a license to teach in NC.

• Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education or a related field.

• Valid teaching license in Hearing Impaired or the capability to obtain one.

• Access to reliable internet for conducting business via web-based platforms.

• Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time.

• Management prefers a current teaching license with a specialization in hearing impairment and Birth to Kindergarten.

• Management prefers the NC Infant-Toddler Credential issued by the Department of Public Health.

• Management prefers experience in public special education teaching with children who have hearing impairments.
