This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Offer federal tax expertise in areas such as corporate taxation, partnership taxation, mergers and acquisitions, compliance, and strategic planning.
• Collaborate directly with members of the National Tax Office, Cherry Bekaert professionals, and clients.
• Formulate the vision, strategies, and action plans aimed at expanding the tax practice while ensuring profitability.
• Create technical resources and establish thought leadership for the National Tax Office.
• Oversee internal resources to ensure the successful completion of client projects.
• Work together with leaders from various disciplines.
• Promote the adoption of best practices for addressing federal tax inquiries and recommending appropriate actions.
• Support the development of the firm’s technical stances and internal growth initiatives.
• Guarantee the technical integrity of tax consulting and advisory services.
• Deliver tax consulting and advisory services.
• Conduct research and draft technical tax memoranda.
• Generate thought leadership and external marketing materials.
• Analyze new laws, regulations, and sub-regulatory guidance.
• Design and provide internal training for staff on tax-related issues.
• Assist in both internal and external webinars and presentations.
• Contribute to firm-wide quality control processes.
• Collaborate with the Strategic Tax Advisory team’s professionals focused on mergers and acquisitions.
• CPA and/or JD is required.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience dealing with federal tax issues pertaining to CPMA matters.
• Extensive background in business taxation, preferably within a Big 4, large national, or regional public accounting firm.
• Proven expertise in corporate taxation, including tax planning, implications of tax reform, and complex business tax challenges.
• Strong experience in advising clients regarding mergers & acquisitions, transaction structuring, due diligence, and associated tax considerations.
• Exceptional research, analytical, and writing skills.
• An engaging and effective presentation style.
• Strong interpersonal abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Robust technical skills with a commitment to further enhancement.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
