Tax Renewals & Exemptions Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Prepare and file annual business tax and license renewals while investigating relevant state and local jurisdiction regulations.

• Oversee tax exemption requests, applications, certificates, supporting documents, and related renewal obligations.

• Monitor renewal and exemption deadlines, track pending items, and maintain internal status reports until completion.

• Engage with clients to gather necessary information, documents, approvals, and other filing requirements.

• Liaise with state and local taxing authorities regarding pending applications, approvals, rejected submissions, and missing documents.

• Keep precise client account records and assist with tax registrations, account updates, and account closures as workload allows.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in tax compliance, business licensing, renewals, exemptions, registrations, or related administrative support is preferred.

• Excellent organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capacity to handle multiple deadlines and see assignments through to completion.

• Strong research, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, and PDF Exchange Editor or Adobe.

• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with various teams.

• Experience with state and local taxing authorities and online agency portals is preferred.

• Background in telecom or indirect tax compliance is an advantage.
