Tax Operations Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct research, analysis, and propose modifications to enhance an organization’s business processes, aiming for improved operational efficiencies, quality, service, and profitability.

• Execute audits, intricate research, and reconciliation across various systems (TaxEx, Workday, Atmos, etc.).

• Deliver escalation support by pinpointing and resolving complex issues, conducting root-cause analysis, and implementing process enhancements.

• Examine and reconcile full or partial cancellations and maintain communication with the team.

• Analyze customer WD data, identify discrepancies in TaxEx, and generate files in Atmos.

• Allocate overpayments to upcoming tax liabilities and process refunds in TaxEx.

• Review daily payments and processing to uncover trends and identify opportunities for enhancement.

• Create process documentation and project plans.

• Investigate and respond promptly and accurately to tax queries, agency notifications, and audits.

• Support various tax-related payroll projects, system testing, and implementations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline; or equivalent experience in an advanced payroll tax role.

• Over 5 years of experience in Payroll tax, with substantial expertise in reconciling and auditing payroll tax, as well as handling complex tax projects.

• Awareness of the legal and regulatory framework concerning federal, state, and local income tax and unemployment tax.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).

• Prior experience with TaxEx, Salesforce, Workday, or other ERP HR/Payroll systems/applications is preferred.

• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) / Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certifications are preferred.

• Experience in providing customer support through a Service Provider or Shared Services Organization.
