This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Maintain ongoing communication with clients throughout the year and gain an in-depth understanding of each client’s business.
• Organize, schedule, and allocate resources for engagements in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Oversee staff and provide practical training on the job.
• Evaluate tax returns and associated work papers prepared by staff, including conducting performance assessments.
• Anticipate potential issues during engagements and formulate strategies to address them.
• Keep supervisors updated on significant developments and propose solutions.
• Convey engagement status, challenges, and resolutions to clients both in writing and verbally.
• Generate client invoices, clarify fees, and assist in the collection of overdue payments.
• Monitor economic and political trends, as well as legislation that impacts the business environment.
• Conduct supervisory reviews of complex tax returns and manage governmental tax examinations.
• Prepare intricate business tax returns.
• Delegate responsibilities and handle governmental tax examinations, representing clients before the relevant tax authorities.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Firm’s philosophy concerning financial, tax, and consulting issues.
• In-depth knowledge of client businesses and their operational processes.
• Familiarity with professional and Firm standards.
• Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and staffing engagements.
• Capability to supervise staff and deliver on-the-job training.
• Competence in reviewing tax returns and related documentation.
• Skill in identifying engagement challenges and crafting solutions.
• Awareness of economic and political trends that influence tax legislation and the business landscape.
• Experience or ability in preparing complex business tax returns.
• Ability to manage governmental tax examinations effectively.
• Proficient in representing clients before the appropriate tax authorities.
