This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Take ownership of the global tax provision, including quarterly and annual ASC 740, current and deferred taxes, effective tax rate (ETR), uncertain tax positions, return-to-provision reconciliations, and income tax disclosures for the 10-Q and 10-K.
• Oversee outsourced providers for US federal and state income tax compliance, encompassing extensions and estimated payments.
• Prepare and review data packages, workpapers, and tax returns.
• Manage audits related to US federal, state, and local taxes, while also providing support for audits in foreign jurisdictions.
• Contribute to global tax planning with a focus on EMEA and APAC regions.
• Assist in global tax reporting, coordinating efforts with outsourced providers or local accounting teams.
• Support the Company’s mergers and acquisitions initiatives.
• Provide assistance on US international tax matters affecting the provision and return, including GILTI, Subpart F, FDII, BEAT, foreign tax credits, withholding, and Pillar Two readiness.
• Maintain SOX 404 controls over income tax, ensuring workpapers are audit-ready, and act as the primary contact for external auditors regarding tax issues.
• Drive improvements and automation within provision and compliance workflows, including sourcing tax data from the ERP system.
• Manage, mentor, and develop 1–2 tax professionals.
• 15+ years of experience in corporate income tax, with significant experience managing a global ASC 740 provision in a multinational corporation.
• Practical experience in US federal and state compliance, including oversight of outsourced preparers.
• Knowledge of US international tax, including GILTI, Subpart F, FDII, and foreign tax credits.
• Direct experience in supporting or leading income tax examinations.
• Experience with public company reporting and strong SOX documentation practices.
• Proactive in taking ownership and resolving issues independently.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with accounting, legal, treasury, FP&A teams, and business units, as well as external advisors and auditors.
• Capable of working independently while managing competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• CPA and/or a master's degree in taxation is preferred.
• Experience in a Big-4 firm is preferred.
• Familiarity with tax provision software and major ERP systems, including NetSuite, is preferred.
• EMEA tax experience is preferred.
• Experience with US telecommunications tax matters, including FUSF, E911, regulatory surcharges, and state and local telecom taxes, is preferred.
