This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary tax expert within the company, providing guidance to Finance and cross-functional leaders on strategic tax planning, risk management, and compliance issues.
• Ensure tax compliance and reporting for a multi-entity structure, which includes partnership taxation, preparation and review of K-1s, and consideration of ownership and tiered entities.
• Collaborate with external tax advisors on federal, state, local, and international tax filings, tax planning strategies, audits, and technical tax issues.
• Support tax planning and analysis for new entities, acquisitions, and the evolving structures of domestic and international businesses.
• Manage indirect tax compliance, which encompasses sales tax, VAT registrations, reconciliations, and ongoing reporting requirements.
• Develop and maintain a compliance calendar for tax, regulatory, and statutory filing responsibilities across various jurisdictions.
• Act as the main point of contact for government and taxing authorities.
• Supervise annual information reporting, including Forms 1099 and 1042.
• Collaborate with Legal and external advisors on GDPR, privacy, and other regulatory compliance efforts that have tax and business process implications.
• Organize third-party compliance reviews and broader corporate compliance initiatives within Finance and Legal departments.
• Track and report artist garnishments in collaboration with Legal and Payroll teams.
• Identify opportunities to enhance tax and compliance processes, reinforce internal controls, and improve reporting efficiency.
• Prepare recommendations and updates for Finance executives regarding tax positions, filing statuses, emerging risks, and strategic opportunities.
• Work with external advisors and cross-functional teams to document and assist with Section 174 R&D capitalization and amortization for tax compliance and provision purposes.
• Over 5 years of progressive experience in corporate tax, partnership tax, or tax compliance within a multi-entity organization.
• In-depth knowledge of partnership taxation, pass-through entities, and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Proven experience working with external tax advisors, auditors, legal counsel, and regulatory agencies.
• Familiarity with international tax matters and coordinating compliance across various jurisdictions.
• Capability to balance strategic tax planning with practical implementation.
• Understanding of how to build scalable processes and enhance internal controls.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex tax concepts clearly and effectively.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and adept at managing multiple priorities in a high-growth environment.
• CPA designation is required.
