This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Execute regulatory and tax reporting functions for mutual funds to fulfill client objectives.
• Prepare estimated year-end income and capital gain distributions.
• Develop work papers for Subchapter M and Excise tax provisions.
• Calculate distribution requirements for income and excise tax obligations.
• Create tax work papers and distribution analyses for mutual funds.
• Assess the tax status of investments and identify discrepancies between book and tax treatment.
• Analyze general ledger accounts to update tax accounts and pinpoint items requiring distinct tax handling compared to book entries.
• Research and interpret federal and state tax laws, regulations, and rulings for management presentations.
• Contribute to the development of tax and regulatory compliance reporting for various regulatory bodies, boards of directors, and financial officers.
• Stay updated on IRS tax law requirements.
• Collect information for external auditors, regulatory bodies, IRS inquiries, and formal or informal audits.
• Collaborate with financial administration on tax implications related to investment activities.
• Communicate with regulatory agencies and audit firms regarding information requests, issue resolution, and reporting standards.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, taxation, accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• 2–3 years of experience in taxation and administration of mutual funds.
• Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
• Familiarity with tax laws and procedures pertinent to investment companies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat.
• Strong creative and critical thinking abilities for effective problem-solving.
