Tax Accounting Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Manage tax notices and maintain precise records within the tracking system.

• Directly liaise with federal, state, and local tax authorities to address issues.

• Oversee and resolve tax tickets in Zendesk while ensuring the tax compliance calendar is ahead of deadlines.

• Calculate and make quarterly estimated and extension tax payments.

• Prepare and submit personal property tax returns and assist with California environmental fee workpapers.

• Collaborate with Payroll on payroll tax filings and coordinate with AP to accurately record tax payments.

• Verify the accuracy of monthly sales tax returns and document tax processes accordingly.

• Utilize AI tools to enhance the efficiency of tax notice processing, research, and deadline management.

• Report directly to the Tax Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a tax or accounting position.

• Exceptional accuracy and a keen attention to detail.

• Proficient in clear written and verbal communication across various functions.

• Comfortable in a support capacity managing multiple client-facing responsibilities.

• Practical experience with AI tools to automate or streamline workflows.

• Bachelor's degree in Tax, Accounting, or a related discipline.

• Proven experience in utilizing AI tools and technologies to enhance workflows, improve decision-making, or foster innovation.

• Bonus: experience in a multi-entity or multi-state tax setting.
