This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Cyber Navigators collaborate closely with election security partners from the Florida Department of State, including both elected and appointed Supervisors of Elections in each County, to provide oversight and guidance on cyber security and related issues.
• Responsibilities encompass managing remediation initiatives and coordinating incidents between Counties and State and Federal Partners, as well as collaborating with Supervisors to develop policies governing election security and cyber security operations at both the County and State levels.
• Cyber Navigators evaluate security postures and assist Counties in addressing any potential issues identified during assessments, serving as cyber security subject matter experts available to the Supervisors of Elections and the Florida Department of State.
• These responsibilities often involve access to sensitive, confidential, or otherwise restricted data as mandated by State and Federal law, which all Cyber Navigators are committed to protecting and handling in compliance with applicable regulations.
• The guidance provided by Cyber Navigators to Supervisors of Elections may include, but is not limited to, conducting training sessions, reviewing and assisting with architecture, and managing incident responses.
• They offer support to the Department’s partner organizations in achieving their critical infrastructure security objectives, which includes system architecture, incident coordination, vulnerability management, training, and managing hosted security services.
• Ensures equitable representation and support for all partner organizations within their designated territory.
• Conducts audits and vulnerability assessments to meet the security and compliance requirements of the Department and partner organizations for critical infrastructure security.
• Collaborates with the Department’s internal security personnel to further Department security goals.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Department and partner organizations.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in information technology and/or information security.
• A combination of two or more industry-recognized certifications such as CEH, CISM, CISA, CISSP, Security+, CySA+, or an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university.
