Principal Embedded Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Define and uphold the embedded software architecture for robotic platforms.

• Establish engineering standards, coding protocols, testing criteria, and development processes.

• Lead technical design evaluations and discussions regarding architecture.

• Mentor embedded software engineers while providing technical insights.

• Propel technical decision-making across robotics and platform projects.

• Design, develop, and sustain embedded software for robotic platforms.

• Create software for robotic motion control, navigation systems, sensor fusion, power management, communications, diagnostics, and safety protocols.

• Implement robust and maintainable software utilizing contemporary engineering practices.

• Optimize software performance for real-time and resource-constrained settings.

• Collaborate with robotics engineers to enhance navigation and autonomy features.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related discipline.

• Over 8 years of experience in embedded software development.

• More than 3 years of experience in a technical leadership or lead engineering role.

• Proven experience in developing software for mobile robotic systems.

• Strong expertise in C and C++ programming languages.

• Familiarity with embedded Linux systems.

• Experience in debugging hardware/software interactions.

• Solid understanding of real-time systems and concurrency.

• Experience with software architecture and system design.

• Familiarity with working in an RTOS environment.
