Systems Engineer V

📋 Description

• Act as a senior technical leader responsible for defining, integrating, and validating intricate defense systems.

• Serve as the technical authority to ensure adherence to program-level systems engineering standards and compliance with contractual and mission objectives.

• Guide junior and mid-level systems engineers while promoting knowledge transfer and enhancing process maturity.

• Supervise the definition and maintenance of system, subsystem, and interface requirements.

• Ensure traceability, verification, and compliance of requirements with MDA standards.

• Lead the development and validation of system architecture.

• Develop and implement system-level verification and validation plans.

• Outline functional allocations, interfaces, and compliance reporting across various program tiers.

• Collaborate with propulsion, software, hardware, GNC, and testing teams.

• Oversee the identification of system-level risks and the implementation of mitigation strategies.

• Manage technical baseline oversight and change control processes.

• Engage in formal reviews, including SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR.

• Provide leadership in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including adherence to SysML modeling standards and alignment of the digital engineering toolchain.

• Act as the main technical liaison between customer and supplier organizations.

• Assist with requirements flowdown, verification progress tracking, and resolution of technical issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related STEM field with ten (10) years of experience in systems engineering or a related discipline, OR a Master’s degree in a related STEM field with eight (8) years of experience, OR fourteen (14) years of experience in systems engineering or a related discipline in lieu of a degree, OR a High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Extensive understanding of MDA processes, CDRL development, and systems engineering lifecycle standards.

• Expert proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS).

• In-depth knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle standards (INCOSE SE Handbook, MIL-STD-499).

• Significant experience in applying MBSE principles utilizing SysML and Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw).

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Project.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Clearance.

• Compliance with ITAR regulations is mandatory.

• Willingness to travel up to 10–15%, including potential overnight stays for customer reviews and testing events.

• Must be a U.S. Person: a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3).

• Eligibility to obtain necessary export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or Department of Commerce.
